- Are hair transplants permanent?
Yes, hair transplants are permanent. Your donor follicles are fundamentally different from those in the recipient area, so it is unlikely you will experience hair loss post-surgery. - Are hair transplants painful?
No, hair transplants aren’t painful. Our procedures are performed with a local anesthetic, so the procedure itself is pain-free. You may experience some discomfort for several days after your procedure, but it is easily managed. Your doctor may prescribe pain medication or anti-inflammatories to alleviate any post-surgical tenderness or soreness, but most discomfort can be treated with over-the-counter medication. - Is hair restoration safe?
Yes, hair restoration is very safe. Our procedures are performed by certified medical professionals using best practices for safety and cleanliness. Hair restoration does not require anesthesia – which avoids a major risk of other types of surgery. Like any type of surgical procedure, there is a small chance of bleeding, infection, or allergic reaction but these risks are very low. - Is hair restoration expensive?
The cost of hair restoration varies widely. The price depends on the type of surgery performed and the number of follicles to be transplanted. During your initial visit, we will discuss all the available options and work with you to find the one that is best for your budget. - Am I a good candidate for hair restoration?
Most individuals with thinning hair or a balding scalp are good candidates for hair transplantation – provided there is adequate donor hair. If you have a serious medical condition or bleeding disorder, you will need to consult your physician to determine if you are healthy enough to undergo such a procedure. - Will I need more than one transplant?
It’s possible that one transplant will be all you need in your lifetime. Some clients choose to undergo more than one procedure if they want fuller hair or to revise the shape of their hairline after the initial surgery. - Is there anything I need to do to prepare before transplant surgery?
Your doctor will discuss pre-surgical prep with you. Generally, clients are advised to avoid sun exposure, smoking, alcohol, and chemical styling products in the days or weeks leading up to your procedure. Also, you will be asked to stop taking hair loss medications, as well as certain supplements and over-the-counter pain relief products. - Do you need to shave your head for a hair transplant?
Depending upon the procedure, some of your hair may be trimmed or shaved so your surgeon can view and access the follicles easily. This isn’t always necessary, and your doctor will discuss the options with you at your initial consultation. - How long does hair restoration take?
The average hair restoration procedure takes between four to eight hours, depending upon the type of surgery and the number of follicles transplanted. - How long is recovery from hair transplant surgery?
Initial recovery takes three to five days, after which you can resume most of your daily activities. After two weeks, you can resume more strenuous activities. Typically, recovery time is quicker for FUE procedures than for FUT procedures (which have a larger incision). - When can I expect the new hair to start growing in?
Several weeks after your procedure, your transplanted hair will shed and go into a temporary resting phase. This is completely normal and new hairs will begin to grow approximately three to four months post-surgery. - How natural will the results look?
Today’s hair transplants look incredibly natural. Advances in hair restoration techniques have made patchy “hair plugs” and visible scars a thing of the past. Our skilled surgeons combine technology and artistry to create the natural looking hairline of your dreams.
